Overall Of It

Let's get personal shall we? Well to start, I'm over it.
I'm a full time student who's also working full time, that's 16 credit hours and 40 hours a week working 3 jobs. It's a little much sometimes I'm not going to lie. I pay for practically everything and sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in bills... car, rent, the whole nine. I know my life could be so much worse, trust me, I'm aware.

On Instagram my life looks easy or carefree but thats quiet the contrary. That is something I wish to change, I want to be more raw to you guys, and personal, I'm not perfect, either is my blog, social media or life.

I feel so stuck... if that makes sense? I can't be the spontaneous person I strive to be because my life is so schedule oriented I have no room or time to breathe. For God sake I even got the word "go" tattooed on my finger to help myself let go of my scheduled life and just "go".

I'm also over being in a creative rut. I feel so stuck and uninspired, anyone got any tips to get me out of this? Im trying to kickstart my creativity by wearing funkier shit, let's hope this works.

Now I'm rambling and you're probably over me complaining so I'll stop.

Crepe's with Claim Clothing

Weekends call for going out to brunch, splurging on your favorite $6 coffee you'd normally pass up on and maybe, just maybe, online shopping a little.

When it comes to online shopping I normally stick to brands and stores that I know to avoid the dreaded process of return shipping. But, recently I branched out and discovered Claim Clothing and it is safe to say I'm obsessed. This dress is the perfect transition piece into spring and cannot wait to style it when it gets warmer! I paired it with this sweater to make it just casual enough for brunch with the boyfriend's family. Totally give their site a peek. They have everything from blankets to beanies and I can't get enough.

So, speaking of branching out, for brunch I went to the Flint Crepe Company and if you haven't been you're missing out. It was my first time going and I ordered the Knickerbocker, a crepe filled with gram cracker crumbs, strawberry topped with a cheese cake dribble. Yeah, my mouth is watering too.

Everyday Makeup

I'd be lying if I told you that these products are the only things I keep on my vanity. In fact, I have maybe quadruple this if not more. It may look like a lot but it takes me less than 10 minutes to apply, trust me I've mastered it. None the less these products are my tried and true, what I reach for, everyday makeup staples.

Primer:
Such a crucial skipped over step by most people.. I swear by mixing the FAB Priming Moisturizer with Becca Backlight. I know its an extra step but so worth it.

Foundation:
When it comes to an everyday foundation I like some coverage but I still want my skin to look like, well ya know, skin. I reach for either of these every single morning without fail. I know I can count on them to last up to 12 hours, not transfer, and especially cover up any blemishes or redness I may have that day.
*I especially love the It Cosmetics CC Cream because it's SPF 50... aging skin please stay the hell away.*

Concealer:
Aka my life line, I have such bad dark circles from lack of sleep, stress, yada yada. I live by these 2 bad boys, they give me life.

Bronzer & Blush & Setting Powder:
To set my face I use Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder it's a cult favorite for a reason. The smell of the the Physicians Formula bronzer is heavenly, not to mention it layers so well and never looks muddy. Topped with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer is pure perfection.
When it comes to blush for me the less pigment the better. Hourglass Brilliant Nude is the perfect blush for me, not too much pigment not too much shimmer.

Brows and Eyes:
First I lightly fill in my brows with ABH Brow Wiz and follow it with Maybelline's Brow Volumizer, it acts as a gel and volumizer in one. After curling my lashes I line my eyes just slightly with Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. For mascara I recently discovered Lacome's Monsieur Big and am in love.

Setting Spray:
I won't leave the house without setting my face with either of these. If I know I'm going to have an especially long day I opt for the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. It truly makes my makeup last all day. But, I love Tarte's Ready Set Radiant spray more so on an everyday basis. This spray will seriously make all your makeup mesh together and look like skin, not powder.

I would LOVE to hear your everyday makeup must haves! Send me a DM on Insta! I'm always on the look out for new products to try!

Peace!

My Mantra

"Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good"

That right there is my "mantra" or motto. All throughout high school I wore athletic clothes and really couldn't have cared less about how I presented myself. That doesn't fly with me anymore. When I moved to Michigan I made a pact to never wear athletic clothes, sweatpants,  to class or in public again (unless I'm going to the gym which is pretty seldom, lets not talk about it).

Now you're probably reading this calling me crazy but after putting the effort into my mornings and getting ready I find myself so much more motivated, confident, and ready to really tackle my day and mile long list of things to do.

Now, I'm not saying that I curl my hair and do a full face of makeup everyday. I mean this as I'll curl my hair, wear it the next 3 days (with the assistance of my favorite dry shampoo) and have on my everyday makeup but still look like I really care about my appearance.

After all, you never know who you're going to run into. It could be your future husband, your ex, a celebrity, you never know so why not always be ready?

So, I hope this inspires you with the start of the new year, a new semester, what have it, to keep your sweats and hoodies at home and really rock what has been collecting dust in your closets.

Yet Another Winter Floral

I am forcing myself to wear dresses although its winter. Contrary to what you see here on my blog... I wear jeans everyday day,  and I mean, every day. Jeans are practically my leggings, call me crazy. There's something about wearing dresses, especially florals, that make you feel extra girly and on top of the world. I dig it.

I'm not too big on extra-girly florals, I love to give them my own lil twist, hence why I added some other textures and a lil bit of edge to this look.

Also, I'm currently kicking myself while writing this noticing my hair tie on my wrist. What can I tell you, I may look composed and put together in pictures but I definitely don't have my s#!t together thats for sure. I' m human too and definitely not perfect. Like for real, look at how linty this cardigan is. I can't make this stuff up.
